I just never use the fatal blow unless it's mid juggle. If you're playing anyone who knows anything you're automatically fucked if you do it outside of a combo

Johnny Cage used his fatal blow, which you can cancel the move. If you allow the full animation it is an unblockable. The Kitana decided to jump over Johnny Cage and do her own fatal blow, not realizing Johnny Cage can cancel his fatal blow, and his move can be used to dodge attacks. He canceled and dodged her attack, and had her eat a combo.

Yes. The other fatal mistake is randomly throwing a fatal blow, since they are so predictable and have a bit of a wind up before hitting. Best to use those in a combo. Just that Johnny Cage baited her so badly.
