Toriyama doesn't actually consider women when he writes. They exist more as a backdrop, only to appear for a one liner every once in a while.

Yerp. As Tyran alluded to: that's why Launch was dropped in the series. He just flat out forgot she existed. Another famous one was how he forgot what Android 18 even looked like, presumably only remembering her at all because of her proximity to both Krillin and Android 17, leading to her having the wrong hair color in Battle of the Gods.

I see this as being GT, but canon. Much like how they redid Broly

I don't understand why the manga all of a sudden has taken precedence when the show started before the manga and the manga was adapted from the show.

Another famous example is that Toriyama completely forgot that there was an SS2 and originally called/wrote the form Goku showcased in the Buu Saga with the super long hair "SS2" he had to be reminded of this fact and changed accordingly. He's the first to admit that he's really forgetful and unlike other authors, doesn't write down stuff / keep a log. He really should.
