yeah, joey was portrayed as the man slut but almost all of it was off-screen like "yeah i just had sex last night".

so how the hell was ross supposed to be the nerdy one or unlucky with ladies?

He's definitely a nerd and he's unlucky in love because none of his many, many, MANY relationships ever work out.

yeah but like...some of those relationships were his own fault. His relationships with Rachel, the British girl, and the Asian are all three his fault entirely.

how could i forget his 1st wife, 2nd wife and ben stiller's wife(girl who shaved her head).

he also had tons of dates without directly kissing on-screen. there was his leather pants date, his whitening teeth date and the date he got while rachel was pregnant.

yeah, maybe he wasn't lucky in love until the end but nobody can say he wasn't able to get dates or just laid in general like he was portrayed, for instance when he had major problems flirting with the pizza delivery girl.

Joey was literally the clich hook-up king friend. Ross probably had the most stable relationships of the men, however you're also not even factoring in all the boyfriends the women had.

Monica or Rachel probably got laid the most.

He was a paleontologist. Chicks fucking love dinosaurs. You ever see women go nuts over Jeff Goldblum? He's not soaking jeans because Earth Girls are Easy. That's pure Ian Malcolm charisma making those girls bite their lips.

A lot of Friends jokes wouldn't fly nowadays, but aren't they actually quite progressive for that era? I don't know other sitcom from that era that touches same sex relationship and issues.

Mostly because the series revolved around the Rachel/Ross dynamic so you GOTTA show them with other people often to see why their coupling makes sense.

Ross and Joey had different dating interests. For Ross a bunch of first dates without leading to a relationship is failing, while for Joey a bunch of one time hookups is the ideal goal.
