A whole lot less ads and a whole lot more absolutely gaudy sites. Every single random geocities page just seared the eyes. Centralized fandom sites didn't exist. If you were interested in say Pokemon or DBZ, you'd browse a dozen or so fanmade sites and hope the info given was correct.
But often places did have a far more tight-knit communities than they seem to do these days. There weren't millions of people chasing clout and few companies to push s*** onto you.

Its cool Pojo . com still exists...those were the days. ( Feels old) https://www.pojo.com/ Damn...I'd figure Pojo would have added Dragon Ball Super stuff at one point...guess its a zombie site itself.

When you're praising one of the biggest fast food chains in the world for not being corporate and sterile, maybe you should consider whether you're letting nostalgia cloud your judgment.

40 years ago, you could get better quality food for less money, the portions could be bigger for less money, there were less chemicals in everything, and less cut corners. Fast food was never amazing food, but it has become a race to the bottom, to squeeze every penny they can, meaning cutting any corner they can, making food smaller, bloated with more fillers, more chemicals, resulting in an addictive, but less food-like end product.

Fuck, even 10 years ago, you could at least get a "nicer" lettuce on your food at McDonalds. A little romaine or something. You know what a "deluxe" chicken sandwich is now? Fucking shredded iceberg with a tomato on it.
