I normally get small crickets, but today I got my crickets door dashed. And I guess the dasher got large crickets. And they were just so horrible. like I put them in my lizard tank. Like 60 of them and they just spread around. like a wave of brown. Like how you see bugs in cartoons just scattered it was so unsettling. Then a lot of these dudes just drived into the water dish to drown. I hope they are all eaten by the morning. I don't want those things in my house . I don't know why the big ones are so much more off putting.

Lol I honestly thought you were eating them when you mentioned door dash. I've been reading more and more articles and news stories desperately trying to convince us to eat insects and it made me wonder if I could ever eat crickets. They're so disgusting looking though they look like roaches. At least grasshoppers look mildly better but the articles always mention crickets specifically

I live in western Mexico. We have both crickets and scorpions

The scorpions are poisonous to humans. A scorpion sting sends people to the hospital. Crickets do not sting humans

The crickets here fight with the scorpions. Having crickets in the house keeps scorpions out of the house, which is good, because scorpions are the greater danger. So, crickets are like heroes here. However, crickets can still be annoying to humans, even if they don't sting

The hotlix roasted crickets and larvets are actually pretty tasty. They're more on the novelty side of entomophagy. They also make suckers with scorpions inside. I like those too.

Sometimes you can find them in stores around this time of year in the Halloween treats section. I know Target had them a couple years back.

I don't mind crickets but a couple weeks ago I became acquainted with what cave crickets look like in person.

Nope.

See even scorpions don't like Crickets (LOL). I don't know why I looked up cave crickets. And I really should have put some calcium on the crickets first so the Lizard can get some in them.

You put all 60 large crickets in with one lizard?

I forgot which lizard you have, but they're only going to eat a few every 2-3 days. They aren't even that good nutrition for a lot of lizards.

I would advise clearing them out and taking the loss.

Crickets suck, I haven't been spraying spiders because I can hear all the crickets outside.

But, scorpions probably suck worse, although I've never encountered one.

Care sheets normally never say how many to give them. i normally do 60. Most them are go by the next feeding. How many do you suggest ?

I feed a hornworm every few week.

I tried to give him vegetables and he was like naw.

Depends what kind of lizard you have and how old they are.

Young bearded dragons eat dozens; blue tongued skinks eat like 2-3 a day.

Have you tried cooking the veg? Some don't like raw.

I have a Schneider's Skink. He is about half the size of a bluey .

I have not cooked the vegs yet. I might try that. I would eat some in front of him an maybe that would get him to .

It worked with my friend's parrot. You should see how the bird was eyeing him as he attempted to pretend to like to eat the bird food, was hilarious.

Camel crickets invaded the bathroom of my previous residence. They blend in so well with the tile floor too so I couldn't see them unless they hopped lol.
