More than 700 children have been killed in Gaza and another 2,450 have been injured since last Saturday, according to the United Nations Childrens Fund, citing local sources.
"According to the latest reports by local health authorities and media, at least 2,215 Palestinians were reportedly killed, including over 700 children, and more than 8,714 people wounded, including more than 2,450 children," UNICEF spokeswoman Sara Al Hattab told CNN on Saturday.
The Saturday figures are an update to UNICEF's Friday statement, which said hundreds & hundreds of children have been killed and injured, noting the number rises every hour.
"The killing of children must stop," UNICEF spokesperson James Elder said. "The images and stories are clear: children with horrendous burns, mortar wounds, and lost limbs. And hospitals are utterly overwhelmed to treat them."

The median age is around 17-18 after all. For all the people passing around unconfirmed information about the "40 babies", it actually pales in comparison to what Palestine is going through. That's why most people out here are supporting Israel through this, but not supporting them to end the conflict as the greater power

The whole situation sucks. Its like a microcosm of world war II reborn. To end fascism in Europe, the allies turned Germany into a morgue, and 300,000 were murdered in two days to end the war in Japan. Israels clearly operating under that same mentality..and I think its time to rethink that.

Judaism has an idea that if someone comes to kill you, you kill them first. Its in the Talmud. Sanhedrin 72a if Im not mistaken. I feel like the only way this is going to end is if the Israelis are convinced that no one is coming to kill them, which is really hard with Hamas around.

As a reminder we are only about a week into this thing, and really only a few days into Gaza being wrecked by Israel. This body count is going to be astronomical and absolutely should be considered an act of ethnic cleansing.
