I can't believe any economists aren't calling housing prices a bubble. The increase is so disconnected from income increases that there is no logic behind it.

Government intervention will be needed to bring prices to coherent levels. Developers only look to maximize profits which means fuck the middle class. Also developing costs are at 400k for houses like that, specially because of labor.

Like seriously, I have a pretty meh 1,300 sqft townhouse that's worth 700k that's in the Fraser Valley. I'm not in a touristy sort of location in the slightest either. Seriously, home prices in Vancouver are among the highest in North America. Prices I see in the States? Not all that shocking to me. Only like parts of New York and California really beat us for insane housing costs. As someone who had lived in WA annd OR for the last 20 years, only old, rich white people live in Bend. Its a highly exclusive town known for its beautiful hikes and wineries that is also a popular tourist destination. This is not surprising.
