What? That's absolutely silly. At my job, the only thing that is kept from you during your probation period is your vacation time (just so people don't join and then immediately burn through their vacation time). You still get health/dental/vision benefits and paid sick leave day 1. Anything less than that should be criminal.

I'm not confused. I'm saying that I believe that I believe that health benefits shouldn't be gated behind a waiting period. The reason it's "common" is because corporations are greedy. And some companies actually had waiting periods as long as a year before the Affordable Care Act made the maximum 90 days.

Hyperbole. I'm not expecting literal criminal charges. But update the laws again and fine companies that put a waiting period on benefits.

I've worked quite a few jobs like that and all of them (the companies) would easily be described as treating their employees poorly/like trash.

Dude took home 4k a month (after taxes) to be on twitter all day. Most people would kill for that kind of money for that kind of job.

The health insurance situation is more of a symptom of the US's broken way of thinking healthcare should yield record profit for an unneeded and quite frankly detrimental middleman.
