Because he's not elected to the position, he has less power. Without that power, they can't actually bring any bills to the floor. And right now, Ukraine and Israel need aid, and neither can be voted upon, same with the looming shutdown in a few weeks.

Nothing can get done in the House currently, because Republicans can't get their caucus in order.

Shutdowns have been Jordan's tool since he got into office. He was the one behind the Shutdown to try to end Obama care.

Shutdowns are this man's legacy.

Which is to say, they can indefinitely hold these votes until January 2025, or later if the next election has similar results. There is no mechanism for early elections, except perhaps on a seat by seat basis if seats were somehow rendered vacant.

Pretty much. Though I think the impending government shutdown and the fact that they can't send any military aid to Israel until they come up with some sort of solution will get them moving sooner rather than later.

Depends. There's been talk about empowering the speaker pro tempore to bring some bills to a vote. If that doesn't happen and no speaker is elected by Nov. 17th then we're going to end up with a government shutdown since the House can't pass a spending bill to avert it.

ive never voted for a single republican in my life and i never will. but because i share a difference of opinion on some matters than the hivemind, i tend to get labelled as some kind of trumper by a specific group of people on these forums because i am not extreme enough to the far left for their likings. that kind of pettiness will never bother me. i'll just keep on chugging along.

They said the network was trying to down play what happened. I linked to a Fox News article where they also used the word crash to describe what James Fields did in Charlottesville. They didnt have anything else to say after that.

that waukesha terrorist who ran over all of those people at the parade deserves every minute of his prison sentence and then some. my heart bleeds purple piss for him.

i remember seeing some articles going around about it being some kind of "crash" and it got to me as if the media was perhaps using softer words trying to downplay what happened as if it might have been an accident, when it was anything but an accident. i mean car crashes happen everywhere, everyday. but nothing like what we've seen over in waukesha that day.

anyways, thats my take on that matter. that dead horse is long beaten. i'm more interested in watching all the chaos unfolding in the house right now. im seriously wondering if the next republican speaker of the house will be able to outlast a head of lettuce, or if matt gaetz and company are going to oust them because of how they worn their tie that day or what they ate for lunch. i'm not even sure whether or not these dysfunctional idiots can manage to get their shit together and elect a proper speaker, or if the chair will be vacant longer than kevin mccarthy's term as speaker.

Both networks used the word crash to describe intentional attacks where a terrorist drove their car into innocent people to hurt and kill them. But you said nothing more about the subject after I showed you that Fox did the exact same thing.

dont care which outlet puts that out. that was clearly more than just your ordinary car crash and to me that kind of erked me as i felt like the media was using terms to try to downplay it and perhaps even portray it as an accident, so i kinda went off about it. if faux noise put out the same thing, then i probably would have went off on them too. i must have missed that. it was a pretty active thread at the time.

i remember the judge kept having to remove that dude and put him in a seperate holding room during trial because he wouldnt stop acting out. but the judge didn't play into any of his games and kept a cool head the whole time. he wasnt able to bait the judge into losing her cool and doing anything unethical or making any rulings that would seem like it was based on any personal feelings, so he won't be able to win any kind of appeal on his conviction based on a biased or an unfair judge or anything like that
