I like games that go so fast they prevent a single thought from forming

This is just straight run around and shoot everything action

I'm not really an FPS guy, I've never played any Bethesda or id game, but I am enjoying this lots

It really is. It's nearly perfect. Same with Doom Eternal. Once you unlock the perks and double dash, you feel like a God of a battlefield.
