SilvosForever 10/19/23 1:55:28 PM #1:	It was good, and worth playing through, don't get me wrong. But did it blow my pants off? Did it make me say "this is amazing!" ? No not really. It felt like a continuation of the first game, which was also very good. I feel like in a few years I will want to play through the old PS2 GoW games again, and GoW3, because they're fun romps. But I don't know if I'll ever be in the mood to play the new GoW games again. It feels like I've already experienced everything I can out of them and the moment to moment gameplay of them is just kinda - eh it's alright. My main gripe being the end of the game - the "Ragnarok" event. It felt like the last hundred hours of these two games were leading up to this moment and it just didn't feel like it was as crazy or epic as it could have been. The whole event lasted like 30 minutes and it was just over. There was so many story elements that could have been drawn out more and ended up being wasted potential. Was not a fan of how they handled some story beats like ~~the snake ending up in the past~~ nor the ending as a whole. Sony is sapping the fun out of it's franchises to pursue "maturity" at all costs. His single-button basic attack system was meant for a character that's still learning to fight, and one that Kratos is commanding. The concept of these games was exciting at first because they were so different for GoW, but I think ultimately I don't like them. The combat is fun, but everything else is just so sleepy. It starts to feel like work, too, going around these maps and finding every little secret and doing all these puzzles. Just something about it sucks the fun out of gaming to me. It doesn't feel like that nice fun exploration you get in a Zelda game where you're really discovering something, it feels manufactured and video gamey, all while having a super serious and dare I say pretentious tone.
