Kicked out by your own father a couple of years into your life. If you have no brothers, then you most likely will be forced to become a nomad alone while you are still growing and vulnerable. You somehow have to find another pride, while keeping up the strength to challenge the current male(s) of the group. Even if you win and become the new pride leader, it's only a matter of time before you, yourself, are the weak old lion that some new upcoming lion kicks out. As lion fights are vicious, this fight alone might kill you. Otherwise, you are now an old and weak lion that has little chance at taking over another pride. You are worse off then when you left your original pride as now you don't even have the strength to hunt the big game you need to survive, slowly withering into nothingness. Your mortal enemies, the hyenas probably are ready to pounce if they ever see you and finish off your painful life.

Your only chance as an old male lion is becoming a mentor for other nomadic male lions out there that create a coalition with you as your experience may prove useful to them surviving and perhaps taking over another pride.

As a male lion, there is no peace. They look and sound majestic, but lions have one of the rougher lifestyles in the animal kingdom tbh.

The problem is, eventually you won't be able to fight... and the other lion might kill all your kids too.

Life is alright for awhile once they can become a pride leader though, truly the life of a king. Everyone does the hunting for you unless you decide to step in, otherwise you just chase off the occasional nomads, which is usually easy until older age. They stay rested and beefed up while the nomads are weaker and more frail.

Forgetting the part where if your dad loses a fight while you're a kid, your stepdad will literally kill you and then fuck your mom.

Maybe if you were a human turned into a lion, but probs wouldnt suck if you were like born that way because you wouldnt like be trying to compare it with being a human, dafuq

Yeah, but it's just the realization that it seems like it's the fate of almost all male lions to die alone and miserable. It's a good few years while you are on top, but it's like being a king, but knowing eventually you will be assassinated and replaced and there's nothing you can do to stop it.

Nah, I pointed it out in post 5, lol. Entire generation is in your hands.

This is the fate of nearly all male big cats. Minus the social aspect.

As a human male on the other hand, I'm just living in my parent's home as my dad co-exists peacefully with me and still helps me out well into my adulthood. In terms of fathers, I have to think humans are among the luckiest in that regard.

Being a lion sounds fun on paper. You have a Nala. You have another Nala. And you have another another Nala.

But they're not the childhood tomboy friend grown up into a courageous woman, nor are they a harem in the way that humans would understand such a concept. They're just cats. Big cats that bite testicles.

I need a lover with a human IQ, dammit. (And preferably one who doesn't bite my testicles when she's horny and I'm not.)

Lions would probably think its stupid when humans associate emotions to their natural life cycle.

If lions had the capabilities to have the concept of stupidity, then they would definitely think it's stupid that their natural life cycle involves their dads kicking them out, them having to be on their own until they find another pride, and at some point, eventually getting usurped and dying by getting torn to shreds by challenging lions, by hyenas, or maybe even just dying of exhaustion and starvation.

Also, contrary to popular belief, males aren't just lazing around all day in the pride. They actually do hunt, typically just separate from the lioness group, and in a more solitary fashion. Of course, sometimes they do hunt with their lioness group.

From a human perspective, specifically your own perspective, it can seem daunting but for a lion it's how they're supposed to survive.

I'd MUCH rather be a wolf then a Lion.

Wolves take care of their own, hell they even take care of the sick amongst them. They all love and care for eachother, and their groups can range from 6 individuals to up to like 30 in the wild. If you have to leave the nest its no way NEAR as hard as Lions to find a new one. You'd have to stick around them from a distance and slowly inch your way in and just show submissiveness and they will accept you.
