That said, the Queen isn't laughing about it, she's just getting extremely worked up about it. The lyrics actually translate to: Hell's vengeance boils in my heart, Death and despair blaze about me! If Sarastro doesn't feel the pain of death through you, Then you will not be my daughter anymore: Disowned be you forever, Abandoned be you forever, Destroyed be forever All the bonds of nature. If not through you Sarastro will turn pale! Hear, gods of revenge, hear the mother's oath! Their take on La Donna Mobile is more of the take for the entire opera (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rigoletto#Synopsis) and not the aira (which is this): Woman is flighty. Like a feather in the wind, she changes in voice and in thought. Always a lovely, pretty face, in tears or in laughter, it is untrue. Refrain Woman is fickle. Like a feather in the wind, she changes her words and her thoughts! Always miserable is he who trusts her, he who confides in her his unwary heart! Yet one never feels fully happy who from that bosom does not drink love! Refrain Woman is fickle.
