Without having read any of it in a long time, I'm somewhat imagining a Robert Jordan/Brandon Sanderson situation. With The Wheel of Time, started to slow down and get stale, the author became obviously bored with it, and then he died and another more motivated guy took over and the pace picked up but the overall change in style was...jarring. Is that what happened here?

The assistant that's been carrying on has done an incredible work mimicking the art style, and he's supposedly working from notes left, but you can definitely notice the shift. Everything feels rushed and characters have kind of lost their little moments of dialogue with each other, presumably because the assistant is reluctant to add anything that isn't in the notes so everything is going at an accelerated pace. It may get better as the new author gets more confident, but right now I would describe it as a borderline tolerable continuation.

I'm just hoping they don't end it too quickly, even though it felt like around the time of Miura's death that we were getting real close to the end. Rushed endings always ruin great things; e.g., see Sense8.
