It is just a laptop after all so I'm not sure 4K gaming is even necessary on a small screen (even though 17.3 is on the larger end for laptops). For context a similar comp with a 1440p screen is $2100. --- The name is wackyteen for a reason. Never doubt. ... Copied to Clipboard!

I paid extra for a gaming laptop, once, only to find out, over time, that I didn't really like gaming on a laptop.
Before spending the money, make sure that you DEFINITELY want to game on a laptop. Because if not, you can likely get a similar desktop for cheaper. --- Seplito Nash, Smelling Like the Vault since 1996 Step FOUR! Get Paid! ... Copied to Clipboard!

I can easily game on a laptop, my primary issue with it would be the same as gaming on a desktop. My default state at a computer isn't to game, it's to browse youtube, gamefaqs and discord lol. --- The name is wackyteen for a reason. Never doubt. ... Copied to Clipboard!

I've had a gaming laptop with a 1060 3GB for 5 years now. If your default/primary function is NOT gaming, then I wouldn't pay extra for gaming quality hardware/features. If you just want to primarily browse Youtube, GameFAQS, and Discord, then you can save SO MUCH money by cutting out the gaming stuff. --- Seplito Nash, Smelling Like the Vault since 1996 Step FOUR! For example, after wasting money on a gaming laptop, and realizing I'd rather game on a PC (especially via Steam Link,) I saved money by buying a gaming PC, which is cheaper than buying a gaming laptop, and then just... Buying a budget laptop, for my Youtube/etc. needs. My current laptop was under $400, and it covers all of my regular internet (Youtube, discord, etc.) needs easily.

I've seen laptops with similar prices and specs that also have 32 gigs of ram, so you might wanna look around or even wait until black Friday to commit to that. >.>

It's not a bad price imo but yeah you could wait for black Friday for something better. I love the portability of having a gaming laptop since i take it to work with me every day.

My issue was mainly I found out that I just didn't like gaming on something to close to me, and I felt like... If I'm gonna do that, why not just use a dedicated handheld? I don't like keyboard gaming, and using a controller on something so close to me just felt weird.
That's why I took to Steam Link, honestly. I could get the PC gaming experience, but through my TV with my feet kicked up. --- Seplito Nash, Smelling Like the Vault since 1996 Step FOUR! Get Paid! ... Copied to Clipboard!
