Similar to Ellen. He apparently had drunken mood swings. He would either be really laid back to work with, or have immature tantrums. It was a story a few months ago by anonymous employees on the show.

The cost of terminating the contract and finding a new host for the time slot was more costly then just sweeiping it under the rug, so they found the nearest rug and a decent broom instead.

I listen to Anthony Jeselniks podcast, he was a writer for Fallon for a couple years and he basically said that the atmosphere at Fallon was no different than any other high pressure late night talk show and that Fallon is generally a good dude

Apparently Fallon did an all hands on deck meeting that smoothed things over with whatever staff had a problem

They didn't even have to sweep it under the rug. He just didn't really say anything about it, and really only addressed it to his staff in private, so people forgot about it pretty quickly.

Funny what happens to a rather minor scandal when the celebrity just... Doesn't throw gasoline on it.

He was drunk, angry, and maybe abusive, though it does appear as though it may be mostly minor stuff. It's not like reports were comign out that he was assaulting people or doing sexual things. Just had a temper and would yell a lot, from what I understand.

I don't think a ton of information came out about specifics, more just the general vibe of the work conditions.

No specific complaints at all besides two employees saying he might have been drunk at some point. People saying saying their dreams were spoiled. People lying about an incident with Jerry Seinfeld and Jimmy.

I cant stand the dude, but the "scandal" was a big nothing.

Uhhh youre misinformed my friend. 14 former employees is much more than 2.

Two current and fourteen former. And he apologized. And the drama abruptly died because his apology was accepted and it wasn't much of a scandal to begin with.

This.

If somebody is actually abusive, or commits a crime, or lies to an incredible extent where people's livelihoods are impacted... Yeah, cancel their ass.

But "He yelled at some meetings because he was drunk and under pressure," or "He harmlessly edited footage for views?" Get out of town with that.

According to Rolling Stones report, multiple sources alleged Fallon had a history of outbursts and lashing out at staff when under pressure.

They did also say

that previous senior staff on the show had bullied and belittled them

but that's an accusation against other people, not Fallon himself.

So it sounds like the actual allegations against Fallon were, precisely, that he had outbursts when under pressure, just like I said.

I agree, but also I do admit that there are times I've been drunk and have seen his show, and I've giggled at some stuff, almost always because he, himself, giggled at something. And it made me realize that's probably where his audience comes from, that sometimes he feels silly in a relatable way.

Somebody who regularly gets drunk.

EDIT: A "lush" is basically how you describe somebody who gets drunk often, but isn't necessarily an outright alcoholic.

Celebrities being unstable and possibly abusive drunks is barely news unless something really awful is tied to it. It's basically been the norm since the early 1900s. Probably earlier.
