And $40 boxes and bags of specialized vitamins...and various types of brushes...and different type of shampoos, and special stones for birds to grind their beaks on...and stealing calming dispensers for dogs and cats (to the point they are now being put under lock and key with the specialized vitamins). I doubt some of my examples is for people's poor pets and aren't being put online to sell on a profit.

Because it does affect us. Do you think companies look at the loss of revenue and think "Whelp, its just the cost of business"? No, they want to recoup that loss for the owners/shareholders so end up raising prices on everything to get it back.

And if you bothered to watch the video the topic is about, the thieves are in no hurry, casually and methodically loading the cigarettes into the car. They could have done this with alcohol.

The idea that they are are such boozehounds to commit blatant theft, and not rob the thing they supposedly want directly (alcohol) is stupid. And naive to not realize they are committing theft for economic means.

Could be for food, gas, utilities, all sorts of things. I'd imagine that would be less efficient anyways, due to how food is shipped. Robbing a truck that is 90% full of, let's say, grapes, is food, yes...but now you're stuck with a shit load of grapes and nothing else.

Much easier to turn around and sell something like cigarettes, and then get the food/gas/whatever you really need.

Because statistically the vast majority of people committing theft crimes are doing so because they have no other source of income. People are far more willing to risk going to jail to put food on their plates than to go "buy jewelry or billshit."
