I haven't been following this really at all but when they were together they were both young and probably being controlled by publicists and stuff.

Now that they are adults, i don't consider Britney to be a particularly credible source considering how wacky she is and the fact that she threw her teenage sister under the bus for not getting involved in stupid drama.

To be fair, Jamie Lynn is not so innocent considering that she constantly bullied a cast member and made her quit after tricking Britney into siding with her. When the truth came out, Britney publicly apologized to the poor girl while Jamie Lynn pretended it never happened.

This isn't just about Britney being forced to carry out one abortion. All this stems from her having to constantly remain silent under the media's scrutiny while Justin Timberlake got off scot-free until now. Also, why is she suddenly less deserving of empathy all of a sudden?

Timberlake is a really skeevy guy. Remember that he intentionally exposed Janet Jackson's breast on national TV. (That incident basically ended Janet Jackson's career) and only later on released a half assed apology over it.

Forgive me (and correct me) if I remember this incorrectly, but wasn't that ultimately proven to be staged? Or close to it? Although regardless of if it was or not, it doesn't make him any less "skeevy"

We know that in hindsight. She probably expected it to garner a lot of attention in the short term only. Like it did for Justin. The issue really is that she was vilified while Justin wasnt.

Before the show there was a meeting with her and Justin and Janet's stylist in her dressing room, where they apparently added that bit to the end.

If she had no idea and it "destroyed her career", wouldn't she have gone hard saying she had nothing to do with it? I don't believe she ever denied knowing it was gonna happen.

Britney's publicist was swearing Britney was a virgin throughout the Justin relationship and all the way until she got married for a weekend. If she had a child out of wedlock, the media would've given Britney a much harder time than Justin due to the double standard. It's hard to believe the abortion push came from Justin and not from her team, which we know for a fact were super controlling on all aspects of her life.

Are they? Am I? I thought I was blaming the over controlling people around her. The baby would've hurt her career way more than Justin's because of societies sexist double-standard. There's no way he was the primary voice saying she needs to get an abortion. It was definitely her publicist that was telling her it's important for the public to think she's a virgin, which was talked about a disturbing amount during that time period.

It just kinda depends. Again, in Britney and Justin's cases, they were teens who had been engineered to be pop stars and had every facet of their lives managed for them. I empathize with that. Money won't replace a childhood.

Yeah, I always think Im really good at empathy, but I think in actuality Im only good at empathy for people whose lives I view as worse than mine. If I see your life as immensely better than mine and youre going through some shit that myself or somebody I know has gone through.. but also being in a much worse situation I feel like Im just like.. well at least you got a million fuckin dollars while going through that situation

I feel like Britney didn't even have access to any millions of dollars she might've been entitled to due to how controlled her life was.

In which case, she was miserable and basically broke (or at least not allowed access to her money unless granted).

Tbh, as bad as things have been in my life, I can't imagine growing up the way she did. It def took its toll on her mental health if nothing else.
