And apparently, Jenna Ellis was in a rush to take a plea deal after the Cheese and Kraken both took plea deals. Also, on the left of Jenna Ellis in that picture is Laura Hogue. She was one of the defense attorneys in the trial for the murder of Ahmaud Arbery. She's the one who mentioned Ahmaud Arbery's "long dirty toenails" in closing arguments.

This is the part I'm having trouble getting a read on. They're losing this trial really badly. Does she not understand that? Or is she just lying to Trump in order to save face?

At this point most the people that can give an honest assessment have probably been weeded out. By design I'm sure because Trump loves yes men.

They've lost the trial in New York, it's all about damages. Maybe she's convinced she can keep the damages low?

Well, the state got a partial summary judgement on the allegation of illegally inflating the value of their properties in financial statements, but they're still working out allegations related to insurance fraud, falsifying business documents, and conspiracy, I believe.

I also get the feeling that the Trumps who are defendants in this trial don't really understand that they're going to lose their New York business licenses as a result of the partial summary judgement.

I think they think they will really get this appealed easily and continue on.

I think Ivanka may be the only one with a decent head on her shoulders and would be willing to sell out the others for self preservation. But honestly I don't know much about the Trump kids.

Trump's lawyers didn't do any cross-examination. I guess there isn't really much there that they can impeach, but... It's bad for them.

Trump really thinks that his mind shapes reality, so if he believes something hard enough, it becomes reality.

Which is incredibly stupid and only he and his followers would buy that ridiculous crock. But his argument is that the banks got paid. Well if you lie to get favorable terms, the banks are actually being defrauded because they wouldn't have given you such nice deals. You'd have paid significantly higher percentages.

Now I'm thinking the $250,000,000 fine the state is asking for is nowhere near enough. I get that the state needed to present a specific timeframe for the trial, but Trump has been doing this for decades.

He defrauded banks out of that much in lost interest on loans they gave him just on those 4 properties mentioned. And this trial is just referring to the 2011 - 2021 time frame.
