I work 2nd shift and my days off are Monday and Tuesday. Most years Im not at home for passing out candy so when I am I like to do it right. I live in a very small 1,000 person Midwestern town and all the kids get really into it so full size it is.

A nice assortment of Twix, Snickers, Milky Way, Three Musketeers, Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, M&Ms both plain and peanut. I find that very young kids tend to go for the colorful wrappers like Reeses Peanut Butter Cups with that bright orange or the Yellow Peanut M&M wrappers while older kids pick out what they actually like.

When my SO and I moved into our home in the summer of 2019, some neighbors greeted us and we talked for a bit. I asked them how Halloween usually is on this street and got told no one comes down this street. It's short and has a dead end, but it's near other busy streets where children often go by, and is even very close to an elementary school. When October came around, I bought a lot of different candies and put them in a large cauldron-shaped bowl. When the 31st came, I dressed up and sat out on the front porch for over an hour and not a single kid or family came down the street. My two next-door neighbors even have kids of their own, and even they didn't come out. So I unfortunately don't get to hand out candy where I live.

Nothing. We never got trick or treaters before, but now we definitely won't, because the buildings have door codes now.

Been like that for a long time in my local area, got a bit better recently but I've noticed the kids these days have no ground game when it comes to trick or treating. They skip houses that have their porch-lights on and don't have the capacity to carry 30lbs of candy.
