They've had some hit and missed games just like any other gaming companies, sure. Despite you and everyone else being vocal about loving the MML3 series, it sold horribly but your kind insist on them making the game anyway. Businesses don't operate on non-profitable products.

This. People just forget because Capcom goes through periods of pride then humbleness. They're on the rise so they feel they can get away with shit again.

Capcom's one of those gaming companies where their developers make awesome fucking games, but the business side is completely awful.

No one forgot that, they've just turned around their game quality from that era for the most part. Once they booted Inafune and stopped their overt Western push things turned around on that side of things.

Business-wise they can still be scummy obviously but their game quality is leagues better in general.

Monster Hunter World and Rise are both historic games but Capcom turned the microtransaction scale up from 7 to 15 in Rise. World had hundreds of dollars with of action figure and weapon trinket DLCs. Basically stuff no one ever cared about. With Rise, they changed it and stuffed the store with HUNDREDS of dollars worth of armor, weapon, palico/palamute armor, hairstyle, make-up, music, voice and furniture DLC. For the first time ever, they introduced paid armor and weapon skins to a store, some of which were literally just given as in-game rewards in Monster Hunter World, and went balls-deep with it. No MH game has ever asked you to pay money for armor or weapon skins. You can scroll through Rise's paid DLC page for a full minute before reaching the end.

And the worst part? The Rise fanbase ate that shit up. The next MH will probably be worse because of it now.

There's mods that are cheats, not all mods are cheats but there's a lot that are.

Like a few have said, they used to be free and well, look where we're at now. That shit's snowballed pretty badly, and not just with fighting games, either.

Back in my days, we were happy if the second player had a different color.

Then just say you're only banning cheats instead of naked Chun-Li titties, like literally every other game company that has a multiplayer game.
