Makes sense, since Indy does a lot of actual winning later on down the road.

This is possibly true. Its certainly up there.

"Geeettttttt dunked on!" hadn't caught on yet, so they had to use that line instead.

Its basically saying some times you need to know you lost. It doesn't mean you are okay with it. Just know when you are beat.
