3 and 4 are extremely close for me, but probably give the edge to 4 because the party members are such a great group of friends. 3 and 4 are leagues above the others Ive played. Tried 1 on PSP, but the UMD quit reading and I didnt like what I played of it anyways. Never played either P2 game. 5 has a lot of improvements to things, but is mostly just decent. My hype was way too high after how good 3 and 4 were and sadly I didnt care for 5 anywhere near as much.

Hoping 6 will be amazing, but at this point Im just hoping it fucking exists before I turn 40 or older :/

4 > 5 > 3

5 > 3 > 4

I've finished 4 Golden, 5, and 5 Royal. I tried P3P but it just couldn't hold my interest and I'm hoping that'll change with Reload.

So for now I'll have to go 5 > 4 > 3

4 and 5 are close but I gotta edge 4 still. Mechanically obviously 5.

3 has a chance when the full version of the remake comes out in 2025.

5 edges out 3 probably. I never finished 3 but I was enjoying it decently. Will be good to finish it completely when Reload comes out.

I have no interest in 4. The music along with the characters just aren't my thing.

Teddie is way better than Morgana at least

5 > 4 > 3
3 most likely goes above 4 if the remake gets the quality of life features that 5 and Golden have.

Royal vs 4/Golden is tough but 3rd Semester in Royal too good. 3 da king tho.

I've played Q2! I'd say that's a good example of what the P4 characters are like! Oh yeah Teddie is trash. But the rest of the P4 characters don't seem great either!

Q1 got criticized a ton for what they did character wise. Not sure if Q2 was any better in that regard since I havent played it

Yeah I hear the Q games flanderize the characters pretty hard, but I haven't played them myself

Nope.

Almost all the P4 characters suck in basically everything outside of the original P4 and the original P4 anime. PQ in general is just unbearable. Nearly every character turned into a parody of themselves.

I would say even their new scenes in Golden aren't good.

Yosuke's one of my favorite characters in all of video games, but I think I'm one of very few with that take.

Anyway, 4 > 5 > 3 but they're all close. 3 has the best overall story and worst gameplay, 4 has the best main cast and worst music (it's still good but not on the level of the others), 5 has the best gameplay and supporting cast but the worst main cast. I put a lot of stock in party dynamics in my RPGs, so 4 edges it out.

Super excited for P3 Reload, might really push it on top.

Teddie is the worst party member of the trilogy IMO.

Yosuke's pretty funny. He has some other issues, but he mostly works.

3 > 5 > 4

Morgana might be the worst party member between 3, 4, and 5

Not a huge fan of Teddie, but his worst is nowhere near Morgana's worst

I like Kanji too but the rest of 4's cast is varying degrees of decent to me, but none of them are bad at least

Koromaru > Morgana > Teddie now there's a ranking I can agree with.

3 through 5 are all great but it's still 3 by a lot. The dark, bleak tone of 3 suits the series much better imo, and I don't like the way 4 and 5 compartmentalize character development by giving them precisely one month of relevance when it's their chapter or whatever and then throwing everything else behind a social link.

3/4 are both great (and super close to each other quality-wise imo) though.

I've been meaning to play 2 one of these days but still have not. 1 I will probably never touch.

It's a shame that both 2 games don't have definitive PSP versions.

3 > 5 > 4

3 is first powered almost entirely but the nostalgia of being my first one. I'm curious to see how I respond to Reload now that I have more experience with the series under my belt.

I've watched a playthrough of 1. I'm sure it finishes last. I'm very interested in the 2 games and hope a remaster or remake happens someday.

5 absolutely blows the others out of the water as an actual game. Progression of confidants alone makes social links in 3 and 4 look archaic and a far cry from the core mechanics they're intended to be.

Honestly I switch between 3 and 4 on a pretty regular basis. I'm pretty sure it's not 5 though.
