There are 4 players.
There are 12 questions.
There are 4 rounds, with 3 questions each.
The first 2 questions of each round are multiple choice, 4 options.
The 3rd question's answer is a number that must be guessed, closest without going over being the winner.

The 1st question for each round is worth 100 points.
The 2nd question for each round is worth 200 points.
The 3rd question for each round is worth 0 points, but you can wager up to half your points.
If you have answered the 3rd question of a round correctly, you are ineligible to answer it in subsequent rounds.

There are 9 prizes.
The winner of the game chooses 2 prizes.
The other 3 choose 1, in descending order of points won.
The winner of each 3rd question rolls a d10 to claim a random prize.

I think that's it. The only thing is that the 4th player to answer the 3rd question will most likely have a much larger pool from which to wager but idk. Should I omit the wagering altogether for the 3rd question and just have them roll for a prize?

Closest without going over for a bet question is interesting, but too easy to game. The smart play is to guess an unreasonably high amount (and bet nothing) the first three rounds so that your opponents will disqualify themselves from the fourth round, then you can bet high with lots of points and no competition.

Someone else will catch on to this strategy and join you in the final round, but you're still dealing with less competition and for a bigger potential payout.

Letting them roll for a prize sounds good, you're not incentivizing people to essentially throw the question.
