Its no different than any other large workplace. You will have nice people, assholes, smart people, stupid people, hard workers, lazy motherfuckers, all kinds of different people. I cant speak for how it is in 2023 but roughly 30 years ago when I was in there were a number of people who were given the choice of military or jail and took the military so we ended up with some real pieces of shit at times.
But as bad as some were I dont recall many being outright evil. There were a few really racist ones who would qualify but it wasnt full of them. They were very few. Definitely have some assholes and glory hunters/fake alpha personalities but again those are in the minority. They usually get singled out and get a rude awakening. Definitely not full of evil mean people.
