Personally, I do right now, but I know that this seems to be something that some CE users struggle with.

How long is it since youve felt good about yourself, CE?

Why do you think it has been so long? What has changed in those ten years?

i usually pride myself in playing video games well with my cerebral palsy, but it tends to give me an unhealthy attachment to winning for validation

I graduated from college in 2013 and, while I wasn't really happy then and was still a friendless virgin loser, I did very well academically. My exceedingly hard work studying was validated. I got by in graduate school, but I didn't do particularly well and didn't enjoy it. Now I'm still a friendless virgin loser with a doctorate degree and student loan debt which will still take me another 2+ years to pay off despite living with my parents (the fact that I fractured my humerus 3 weeks ago and will probably be unable to work until January at the earliest isn't helping). I was genuinely fine with all of this and was content with living in my bubble until a person broke me psychologically in March of last year to the point that I will never be okay again.

Im very sorry to hear all of that, but Im not sure how honest youre being with yourself. You say that you were genuinely fine with a time when you considered yourself a friendless virgin loser. Thats hard to believe.

I wasn't necessarily happy, but I was content. I enjoyed my evenings and weekends watching TV and playing video games.

I think the last time I didnt was around March 2022.

Today when I came home from my perfect job to my beautiful wife in our lavish palace of a house and discussed using some of our seemingly endless money to go on a romantic vacation to Detroit, Michigan.

I made a much longer post about it here a few months ago, but I'll give you the short version. I thought that I finally got a girlfriend (a coworker), but I was wrong. She never cared about me at all. I had exactly one chance to lose my virginity, but my body betrayed me. She never gave me another chance and was extremely cruel to me over the next four months before she finally left. Since then, I feel like I failed at life at the deepest possible level every minute of every day.

I think he means that he was okay with the extracurriculars not being so great as long he received some sort of validation through his studies. Im pretty much in his shoes rn and am genuinely happy as long as the money keeps coming in from my not so glamorous job.

I honestly can't recall a time when I did.

Depends on the day to be honest.

It's been a while.

Last month I learned to make biscuit sandwiches as an alternative to the prepackaged frozen ones I usually got, and they came out pretty good. The salt content was pretty much the same but they had fewer calories and about half the fat content.

Little things make me feel good about myself.

Like I am trying to learn piano by doing 30 minutes per day. Every time I complete that, I give myself a pat on the back.

I havent drank in almost two months and been drinking a lot more water and exercising almost daily. Discovered new and old hobbies like cooking and Ive lost some weight from not ordering fast food and cooking healthy meals. Im in my mid-30s so the back and knee pains are still there though.

Probably when I was a kid. I dont really feel bad about myself now. Just... I accept myself. I guess that's how I could put it. I chose to stop caring that I suck. And that my life will never go anywhere . And that helps my mental health. Though this might not make sense to anyone but me

Being in your mid-thirties doesnt mean you should have back and knee pain. Have you seen somebody about it?

I have a daughter, a wife, a house, a career, and a football team in first place.

Im not in a good place religiously, but otherwise, Im living it up right now.
