Yeah but the thing with that is Reeves won Re-election by only a few percentage points. He underperformed in a deep red state. Something to monitor going forward

Yep. Whether you like it or not, thats simply not an issue youre going to come out on top of if you decide to go that route as part of your election strategy. Oh well, well see if the GOP learns from this particularly painful setback and decides to change course in the future.

As for me, Im not touching that subject matter with a ten foot barge pole since Ive seen enough people suffer the wrath of the moderation team due to letting their feelings dictate their responses to the point of crossing the line of what is considered acceptable on these boards.

Also lots of saying the quiet part out loud, about how this is all about controlling women sexually. Yep. You'd think they would be more pragmatic about it. Like they want to have sex with women, probably complain about having to wear a condom, but then also go after reproductive rights that are a very good reason for women demanding men wear condoms in the first place.

Like obviously there's also the concern of STIs, but if women weren't shamed and punished for being sexually active, maybe more of these men would be getting laid.

Probably why a lot of them also go after teens (and not all of them women).

Republicans can't just not fight abortion though because for decades that was the issue they used to get the support of the religious right. That part of their base are not going to accept half measures on abortion. If Republicans suddenly moderate their stance then that reliable voting bloc won't be so reliable for them anymore.

On a side note, every time I've tried to volunteer or go to a Republican candidate's strategy meeting, it's always older people (which is fine) but also weird younger people. I say weird because they seem like mutant version Ben Shapiro types that are super awkward & don't know what they are doing. It's so baffling to me because all my Republican friends in real life are hardworking, presentable, fit, healthy and capable...but the ones representing us (working for candidates) are not.
