Funny enough, no. I have my CPA license. The only thing they care about is having over 150 units and taking the core accounting classes. Business Calc was the last math course I had to take in CC to transfer over to a university. And all Business Calc was is just Calculus with word problems.
yeah but you must have a bachelors accounting degree? Many have master's iirc. pretty sure you don't need that for like h and r block

Differential equations/linear algebra or calc 3. Not sure which is considered "higher" or "harder."
imo Differential equations (we called it calc 4) was harder than Calc 3. Honestly Calc 3 was easy as shit cuz it's literally just calc 1 again but in 3D or with multivariables or partial derivatives. Learning calc 2 and 4 sucked

Calc 5 > 4 > 2 > 3 > 1 in terms of difficulty

I actually somewhat enjoyed Calc 1.
Calc 2 was awful and killed any desire to continue with any math beyond that point.

I still had to take a couple math classes after that for business class stuff. But they were much easier than calculus! Stuff like intro statistics and intro to operations management (operations management is secretly a math major if you take the upper level classes)

Linear Algebra. Matrices confused the hell out of me.

Last time I felt confident in math was Calc AB (thats what it was called for me but I guess that equates to Calculus 1). Calculus BC/2 got confusing for me mainly because I slacked off and didnt do homework or attend every class. I think it involves vectors?

I shouldve failed Linear Algebra but my professor was nice.

Not exactly. I took a desk job to gain experience and never left. I should fly for money, but there's so many chuds and blowhards as pilots. I wouldn't want to be next to them.

You can go down to a local flight school at the airport and learn the same exact shit I learned in college. You don't need to be good at math and physics. Most computations are pretty basic and modern avionics and iPad apps can do all the complicated stuff for you.

Nope. It's all by hours, not years experience. You can go from zero hours to Commercial Pilot and Flight Instructor in less than a year in fast track programs. Then you just teach or do small charter jobs until you hit 1,500 hours (less if you go through college programs). Then you can go onto the regional airlines.

how long does 1500 hrs usually take? many pilots are former military cause they get that 1500 hrs already....etc...?

Calc 3. I dropped in my 2nd year of college, which never sat right with me (it was purely due to poor work ethic causing me to miss way too many classes, and I could no longer rely on what I would say are above-average skills at picking up math), so I redid it in my 4th year, even though I had no real good reason to other than my pride. Ended up getting an A in it (this was during the spring semester of 2020, so Covid year).

Unfortunately, I knew that was my limit. I am really good with the idea of mathematical concepts in the realm of pure math, but have never been able to grasp physics, which math starts to blend with at its higher levels in many ways. Was a little depressing to feel like the dumb kid in the math class.

If you're dedicated, you can get it in less than 2 years. Military pilots are commissioned officers and have to serve a minimum of 10 years. They'll have thousands of hours by the time they get out. I think they just need to take an FAA equivalency exam, submit paperwork, and they get their FAA Airline Transport Pilot certificate.

Not as much as back then, when schedules and routes were regulated. Now there an ever growing demand and the military cannot provide all the airline pilots. Especially with military now using drones instead of manned aircraft. Competition is very high getting the coveted fighter pilot jobs, but you're still lucky to fly cargo or tanker aircraft.

Airlines are starting to make their own flight academies now. Where you pay a discounted rate for flight training, but you have to work for the airline upon graduation.

No, it keeps going up due to the large pilot shortage. Especially due to resurgence of travel from COVID lockdowns. Lots of older pilots took early retirement packages when the pandemic hit. So when that happened, they have absolutely no incentive to rejoin the airlines at the bottom of the seniority list. Everything is seniority based.

Regional pilot pay is so much better than it was, say 15 years ago. First year first officers (co-pilot) made near minimum wage. Now pay is much, MUCH better and many regional airlines offer large sign-on bonuses.
