Not really a musical fella, but I recently discovered songs from it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujISHxSnYrw

Like, damn, that is GOOD music. It almost sounds modern for a 50 year old song.

Has anyone seen the whole thing? How good is it?

It says right here in Matthew 16:4 "Jesus doth not need a giant Mecha."

What do you mean sounds modern? It doesn't sound out of place for 1973 imo

My favorite musical. The movie version is definitely the best. Ted Neely is incredible

I'm surprised. From what I read, it's not like the traditional story of Jesus in that it shows Jesus's human side, has him questioning God, and Judas as sympathetic. Figured those were all no-nos lol

I guess I just don't associate that kind of sound with early 70s? But you're right, looking up some songs I thought were late 70s at most, I guess it's not that out of place. It still has kind of a modern-ish feel tho to me. Can't really explain it. I'm no music expert so I'm probably just bullshittin'.

His voice is so good. So is Carl Anderson's Judas. It must be hard for people to play these characters in modern productions without comparing to their high standard.

Another banger

Carl Anderson's Heaven on Their Minds still hasn't been topped.

I really live the Steve Balsamo version of Gethsemane

I played Judas in my school's 5th grad rendition of JCSS.

I rocked that song like it was nobodies business.
