What have they actually managed to build The Enterprise? I wonder which version they have built?

I haven't been keeping track, but glad it's finally flying soon. I used to work at ULA and actually designed and worked on some of the avionics on it

Starship. 8 AM EST from South Texas. Excitement is guaranteed and explosions are likely.

LabPadre, Everyday Astronaut, Scott Manley, etc will have streams too. Twitter might be the only official place to watch though.

This is really exciting. Nasa going to the Moon in a couple years is going to be amazing.

Superheavy explodes shortly after a relatively new hot staging technique it wasn't designed to survive. 33 working engines until that point is incredible.

Starship destroyed at a very weird point right around engine cutoff and fuel exhaustion. Maybe intentional? Speed was too low even though it officially made it into space.

Failure is a part of his rapid iteration approach. Getting further with each flight but lol for now.

A very long way from HLS landing on the moon or daring to launch people on it with Polaris 3.

The next ship and booster are basically ready to go for testing or further modification.

So damn cool to even get this far. This is the hardware you need for a Mars colony.

It won't be Musk who does it.

Nobody else is even in the same ballpark as SpaceX. There's no other way under consideration to get a shit ton of stuff to orbit and reuse the whole spacecraft.

If China beats us back the moon with Apollo-style hardware, it'll only because we're not interested in repeating that ourselves.

Musk has to go. Let Shotwell have full control.

Whenever I hear Star Lab, I think about the school program.

Sadly you were born too soon. If youre even in your late 20s at the time of posting, by the time you get into an aerospace company and work your way up to being a candidate for space travel, youll be too old.

This is what people forget regarding humanitys space-faring future. A person needs to be young and in peak physical condition to function in space (and even survive takeoff). If youre on Earth right now, you are going to live your entire life here.

Which is a good thing really, since it means we wont have to worry about the ruling class flying away to leave the rest of us to die to climate change. Theyre going to die along with us.
