Remasters are bad.
Total remakes are good as long as they are spaced out well enough. Nintendo seems to do well spacing their from-the-ground-up remakes. If they refresh a formula, tweak a mechanic to good effect, and respect the magic of what made their original entry work, they are usually total improvements on an already great game. We need to see more of this happening. --- everything is going to b o k ... Copied to Clipboard!

How come it's always beloved games getting remakes they don't need?
You never really hear about a cool idea that didn't pan out getting a second chance at life. --- Still waiting on that third threat ... Copied to Clipboard!

Nintendos style of 1:1 remakes with little to no extra content is just a way for them to extract more cash from people for decades old games with minimal effort
1:1 remakes of old-ass games should be in collections, or priced appropriately. Things like the tomb Raider collection, Spyro, crash, even the master chief collection. Shit even super Mario All-stars is a decent example of this. absolutely no reason SMRPG and Links Awakening remakes should have been full-priced $60 games when you compare those remakes to Dead Space, Resident Evil 2/3/4, hell even Nintendos own Samus Returns, its shameful imo. --- BLACK LIVES MATTER Games: http://backloggery.com/wrldindstries302 \\ Music: http://www.last.fm/user/DrMorberg/ ... Ill gladly take remasters of games that havent been playable for multiple console generations. They can be greedy, or just borderline ports in cases like SMT Nocturne, but not all games need significant reworks to be enjoyed in the modern day.
