Poppy's Playtime Chapter 3 was garbage though. How can a game call itself part of the 'horror' genre when you spend 30 minutes screwing around with puzzles, and backtracking through large empty areas where nothing happens? Then there are annoyances like the checkpoint system making you redo useless actions, like fetching a battery or carrying a cable. And, by the time you get to the main confrontation you might waste another 30 minutes with bugs. It is also inconsistent about things such as the red gas. Depending on where you are in the scripting the red gas can: kill you instantly, slowly drain your health, or just make you a bit loopy.

On the flipside, it looks prettier than the previous chapters...

What is Poppy's Playtime. Also I am just not creative enough to play crpgs. I don't mind missing out on BG3. I tried the first two Divinity: Original Sins.

I'd take the girl lol I could get her into some strange games too perhaps.

What is Poppy's Playtime.
An indie game where you go to a now-defunct toy company only to discover some Five Nights at Freddy's style shenanigans happened and you're running for your life from various monsters. The player has a backpack with large toy hands on wires that they can use to interact with buttons and levers and whatnot and need to solve some puzzles to progress the game.

Oh it's based on that rich FNaF's lore. Eh seems easier to solve than some games.

Most of the 'puzzles' in Resident Evil or Silent Hill are just 'collect the key/doodad and plug it into the slot'. Also, areas that you traverse early game, such as a mansion in RE1 or Police Station in RE2, change when you return with new enemies and altered layouts.

In Poppy's Playtime you'll walk into a zone and be told that you need 4 batteries to proceed or whatever and each one has its own puzzle, and nothing happens as you collect them. But those 4 batteries are one larger puzzle in one area when you have a hub where there are 4 areas to visit in sequence, and this large hub is always empty and devoid of anything. That says nothing of the platforming puzzles where you walk into a room and find stuff like 5 spinning poles, 2 turrets with switches, moving gates, and your job is to divert power four different ways to use jump pads and power elevators just to open a lone door to proceed. There are also places with timed power puzzles where it is possible to 'succeed' using an unintended power source, but it fails because the game wants you squirm though a particular air vent to a different power source.

The puzzles are front and center, to the point where the game could almost be a point-and-click adventure.

I mean, the Flare Gun section with the miniature toys is close in its execution, as they try to swarm you from the shadows at every direction. The final encounter also uses steam vents to drive your adversary away.
