Every time I curiously check what the current vibe of what the OP community thinks the ending timeline is going to be, it's always 5 years.

I remember reading 2024/2025 for a bit, but now people are even saying as much as until 2032.

Isn't the creator getting pretty old? Can he keep up the work rate he's been going at?

It's currently in the final saga. There's no end date, but that's the estimation by most people given the length of sagas and arcs.

OP will end when it stops making money

They will pull a Boruto and literally immediately continue with a sequel about Chimpanzee D Luffy

yeah, it's just that some arcs end up being longer than expected. The current arc seemed like it'd just be a chill catchup+loredump, and then we'd move on, no longer than 20 chapters at first, but then it turned out to be much more than that so yeah, though it seems to be wrapping up relatively soon. Also that Oda is taking more breaks than usual

Because it has been spinning its wheels since a bit before you first heard it and this is their subtle way of it wanting to get on with things.

I think he usually gives vague notions and people extrapolate from that. Though I'd say no way it ends in five years from this current point. Even this minor transitory arc has been drawn out well over a year, and we're just about to get to a major milestone arc that was first mentioned 1000 chapters and 25 years ago. No way is that going to be a short one.

Oda takes a break like every two weeks, that "five years" could end up with an additional three. Plus since it's the last saga it'll probably be longer than average anyways.
