Yeah, but like, if we just DON'T vote then the democrats will realize their mistakes and change all of them and in the meantime we won't be regressing at a rapid pace completely butt fucking anything we want to actually change or improve due to republicans.

This is a pretty accurate summary of how ridiculous so many people on the left are right now, and it's really disappointing to see so many eating up the bullshit pushed by those wanting us to believe both sides are the same because of Israel when unregulated energy use is destroying any hope for the future of society. But let's throw it all on the line because certain people on the left care more about a conflict that's been ongoing since WWII only at a time when we have a level-headed leader in power, and people in the middle eat up crap that our economy is less stable than under Trump.

Not voting at all is literally enabling him. If you live in a swing state, there's just no excuse to not vote unless you're complicit with the continued downfall of society.

Great to hear you don't live in a swing state at least. I think it really helps clarifying anytime someone says they're abstaining, even though you may likely still be allowing the House and Senate to make things worse for our country (and also those that suffer as a result of our country's unregulated behaviors). But what standard should I hold myself to with other issues when the ones I care most about are the ones that threaten society's continued state of existence and make all other issues moot?

*Dont for in the general elections despite there being literally hundreds of mini elections being ignored*

Those are obviously important too and have a collective impact that shouldnt be undermined, but I think its especially important to emphasize the repercussions of elections at the federal level right now, considering that the outcome in this country largely determines the course the rest of the world takes in matters that will likely determine whether or not humanity can even survive in mass numbers. These issues being climate change, nuclear war, and rising authoritarianism/fascism/nationalism across the world.

I consider a swing state to be any one that has any remotely realistic chance of flipping (probably doesn't apply to me in Missouri, but I still plan to cast an all-Democrat ballot in November). Also, people voting in non-swing states help in shifting the tides of the state so that it can eventually favor the other party.

Are the people refusing to vote this election because of the Israel Palestine conflict lifelong abstainers?

The US has always supported Israel. Biden is not doing anything significantly different in that regard than any president has, so idk why THIS is the one election where they decide support of Israel is a total no-go.

Right. It's been this way for like 80 years now with all administrations. Agree with it or not but it's still laughable to cry genocide and not vote against an actual rapist(as a judge has clarified) who continues to paraphrase Hitler.

They are misinformed. They dont even realize that Democrat presidents supported the two-state solutions was not enabling everything Bibi did.

Meanwhile and Replubcians are Anti-Arab and Pro-Israel. They will lock step with Israel, not give two **** about Palestine. On top of that, they will add immigration bans to make even harder for people screwed over by the war to come to America.

It is a flaw in their logic yes. Both support genocide, but only one wants to extend that genocise to more minorities and is an open fascist.

I'm not sure what they think will be achieved by helping someone who wants to remove their rights, and add them to the genocide being supported.

Yeah, Biden and Starmer (in the UK) suck but the only alternative is significantly worse.

That can be fixed if people start voting down-ballot and request for it. It already happen in Maine. It can easily be implemented in a quite few states.

But people think that not voting will solve this issue.

Project 2025 is unfortunately likely to succeed at some point. They can just keep it around until a Republican becomes president. It will be nearly impossible to keep them out of office forever.

At best it locks us into two party rule where Democrats can pick whomever they want because if the Republican wins they'll attempt to make it a dictatorship. The Democrats will likely slip up and pick a candidate who is less electable than the Republican. At worst it'll become one party rule, if Republicans can never get in again, with the Democrats picking whomever because they don't have to worry about the Republican opposition. Something will need to change
