Ive never had one.

First cellphone of any kind in 2004, first smartphone in 2012.

In high school, but I don't remember which year. High school was 01-05, but it was probably 02 or 03, which is two different options so i didn't vote in the poll.

I want to say the end of middle school, like 8th grade, so...2005ish?

My mom got me Nokia brick with no service but filled it with all my family contacts. She said "take this phone - if something happens go to the neighbors and call us" lol

I got my first phone with actual service in like 03-04.

~2000. Reluctantly, too. Being a "cell phone guy" was kind of frowned upon then.

Got a tracphone my freshman year of high school in 2009.

It only had 100 texts a month and like 200 minutes of calling.

It must have been 2001 or 2002 I think.

And it was the legendary Nokia 3210.

2009. A friend actually got me a prepaid phone for my birthday which was kind of weird but I still have the phone number from then. I used it for essential calls and texts only for about a year and then got an actual phone plan the following year. Got a smart phone probably 2012 or 2013.

2003 start of college.

My parents had one well before but it barely worked and we kept it in the car for emergencies

2006 when I started college. Razr V2 aw yeah!

2002 I think, which was a prepaid Virgin Mobile phone

Can't remember if it was 99 or 2000

It would have been 2004, I think. I had gotten a summer job at a place I couldnt bike to and didnt have my license, so my parents agreed I could get one to make sure I had rides when I needed them (usually from coworkers). I got my own checking account that summer, too.

January 2001, because my then gf wanted to upgrade hers and thus she gave me her old one & added a 2nd line.
