So I ordered something from Amazon and it was delivered last night. It was very lightweight and ended up seemingly blowing away (it's been really windy here the past couple of days) in the time since it was delivered before I knew it had arrived.

My father thinks that it's not on Amazon and I should just suck it up and pay for another one.

Do you know for a fact that it was delivered?

I have a photo of the padded envelope sitting in front of my garage. It looks like it was taken after the sun had set.

Always fuck over Corporate companies any chance you get. They take responsibility for package thefts. No reason they won't for environmental conditions.

One of the wealthiest companies in the world can afford to send a replacement to you given that they didn't properly secure it.

How much was the item in question?

Really nobody's fault. You could make a case the driver didn't secure the package I suppose. Just be honest with Amazon and tell them the wind blew it away. They may just send you another one provided it isn't a highly expensive item.

Replacement wins.

I'm going to see if they can ship it to the nearby Amazon locker instead of my house to avoid this happening again.

This is the answer. It's not your fault the driver didn't place the package somewhere where it wouldn't blow away. Amazon should send you a replacement.

$10.

I say just try and see if they'll send you another on their dime, (since it obviously wasn't secured).
I'll be interested to see if they try and fight you over $10. Let us know how it turns out please.

It's just menu options. You won't have to speak to a live person. Just do the replacement option. You aren't screwing them over or anything, you genuinely didn't get the item.

So they won't be able to ship a replacement to a different destination but will refund me and I can reorder it to be sent to the locker.

Seems like that's that.

Probably better like this. I can use the opportunity before ordering the replacement to check to see if anyone returned it to my mailbox before being certain it's gone.
