VXT are basically same games but with different cast/story.
30 is still very similar to them.
Unfortunately, for the last decade there's not much change in the series.

Anyway, they're all worth playing and going by chronological release is recommended.

VXT are worth playing. 30 not so much (too much "content", too much dlc unitage)

I've seen some of Gurren Lagann and uhhhh...

That's pretty much it.

You want Super Robot Wars X then...that's the one with Lagann and a few others like Code Geass and Gundam Wing.
