I've been wanting to buy a home for years, one of my big goals is to be a homeowner. It sucks because I cannot realistically afford most homes in my area.

There are rural areas that are insanely affordable for me, but half of them look haunted, so I'll probably do that eventually when I can get a solid work from home job and/or get over my fear of ghosts...but it is nice to look at all of the fancy homes in my area and dream about having a mid-sized suburban home.

Oh, all the time. Like I drove through a really nice neighborhood in east LA and the first thing I did was check Zillow to drool over some of the houses.

I will walk through apartments sometimes knowing full well I can't afford a 1200 one bed efficiency

I've completely given up on the idea of owning a home so my ultimate dream in life is to just live in a tiny home or one of those converted containers.

Yea, I usually drive past them since I travel cross state(MI). The waterfront properties especially make me jealous. Partically the ones around the great lakes that also tend to be more creative in designs.

How sad It It is to pay off the home in the ghetto I'd be working for decades or the rest of my life

Even though I'm paying off a home, I enjoy looking at what is available around the area. Usually use Trulia, which is what I used to find my first and current home.

Hmmm...I don't do it but my brother does. Didn't think this was as common as it seems as I personally didn't see the appeal of doing so
