Spirit Temple. Had the best theme song as well as my favorite boss fight.

Forest Temple for sure

Spirit Temple for gameplay. Shadow and Forest Temples for atmosphere and mood.

I know its not a popular opinion, but my favorite is actually the water Temple. I just in general love water dungeons. Im also not a big fan of desert dungeons so I dont really care for the spirit temple like many others do.

I also find the Forest Temple to be a bit overrated.

Spirit Temple theme is legendary, but Im gonna have to go with the Fire Temple. It just stuck through my mind the most and to me is the most complete in how it connects with Hyrule. You have to scale a whole volcano and go into the depths of it while the other places just feel like small instances of what would otherwise be a whole ecosystem.

It's close between Forest, Shadow, and Spirit for me, but I think I give the edge to the Shadow Temple because it has by far mu favorite lore + atmosphere out of all the dungeons (Bottom of the Well is right there in that regard, but it's too short for me to really consider it a dungeon).

When I think of OOT, I immediately think of the Forest Temple

that doesn't really line up with where the fire temple would be in a physical sense though

personally my favourites' the forest temple, it just nails the atmosphere so well and none of the dungeons afterwards manage to recapture it. Water temple gets honourable mention for being the only truly maze-like dungeon but the pausing to equip/remove boots is too annoying

Forest Temple.

Despite the Shadow Temple being all about the undead, ghosts, and demons, it's actually the Forest Temple that remains the scarier dungeon. Every second in the temple is just ominous. It's filled with ghosts and monsters that can appear out of nowhere at all times.

There's also this strange feeling that the player is being watched by something. Combined with the creepiest music in the game and a solid boss, it is a brilliant first dungeon for adult Link to tackle.

Also, this temple was apparently going to be called the Wind Temple, although that got scrapped with the Wind Temple name instead being used in The Wind Waker. Hence why parts of the Forest Temple don't seem to fit the theme. Still, Ganon's Tower Forest Temple segment uses tons of fans, so some parts of the Wind Temple idea remain in this game.

Pretty much all of the adult "main" dungeons are good though. Each brings something to the table. Bottom of the Well for being nightmare fuel and Ganon's Tower also deserve a shout out.

Forest Temple was just such a fucking vibe. The layout was so cool, the twisty hallways, hidden passages, the Poe hunts, it was all amazing. Probably one of the best Zelda dungeons in any game ever, tbh.
