Tried it for the first time last month, *thought* things were pretty straightforward but I just received an email that they're missing one of the items I returned, even though I have confirmation that they received it... wtf am I supposed to do about that?

Tell them you returned it over and over until they stop bothering you.

I don't even know where to go lmao

I haven't had to contact Amazon customer service in probably 15 years, and their "help" page is anything but helpful.

I was wondering about this because it's like, do I have to pay the shipping costs to return it? And it just feels more inconvenient than my usual method of try in the store at my leisure

Look at your orders or just chat with a rep. Pretty simple really.

Lol so true. I'm surprised Amazon hasn't embraced the "AI assistant" you see on some websites where you ask it a question and maybe if you're lucky you can get it to call an actual human to help you

No. I recently did it with some shoes. Sent them back since they were a smidge to small to get the next size up. Took like 10 seconds to go through the process of replacing, they gave me a barcode to have ups scan and that was it. Was overall pretty convenient.

nope, it's just drop and go. i've had two different experiences, i assume because the sellers were different. first one was literally drop and go, they didn't even care if it was in a box or bag. second was a really strict "must be set up as you got it, in a box, taped" before i had to hand it off. both times didn't pay anything though, just walked into a UPS store and dropped it off, took 2 minutes tops.

supposed to be pretty easy

You get a list of places you can return it (like Whole Foods and Kohl's) and you get a QR code. Scan the code in the shop, scan the items, they package it and everything for you.

I got a confirmation email that they have scanned and packaged every item for return but somehow only 5 of the 6 made it back?

There is nothing in my orders that deals with contacting customer support about a lost item. And no phone number.

I like when I Google it I see a 1-800 number in the results but when I load the page it's the same excessively confusing and convoluted site I found originally. Also I remember when Bezos' big thing was trying to make customer service *better*.

edit: lol had to choose a random help topic associated with the item just to get a link that says "I still need more assistance".

lol the customer service is so fucking awkward.

"Let me try to figure out the refund status for you"
"I don't need a refund, I just want to make sure I am not charged for an item that I did return. I received an email that it wasn't returned, even though I did return it at the same exact time with five other items".
"I am so sorry you received an email"
