How bad is the gen 4 Battle Frontier? Specifically HGSS if that changes anything.
I found some old online-ready Pokemon and am considering giving it go.

Playing it in co-op was my favorite experience in the entire series.

I've rounded up some contenders.
Salamence, Togekiss, Gengar. Two special attackers and critically acclaimed enemy of the people circa 2008 Salamence.
Salamence has Dragon Claw which should probably be swapped for Outrage... However you do that in this game.

There's a Garchomp here but it's max attack + scarf and I should have gone max speed + band.
I've also found a lv1 modest Rotom Wash from 2010 in the PC which might be worth training 14 years later.

I just finished going through the Battle Tower to get ribbons.
used Garchomp/Suicune/Metagross for singles, and threw in Zapdos for doubles/multi.
wasn't too hard.

I just had a run in with a Shedinja using Sand Attack. I won but it took too many turns and also I'd forgotten to turn battle scene off so it took even longer. I'm having fun so far but I know I'm going to be at the mercy of stuff like this, Brightpowder and Double Team.

I'd forgotten they let you bring some of the weaker legendaries. I know I have some legendary trios lying around. If Togekiss doesn't cut it I'd be down to try Zapdos too.
I think I took the Mudkip from Steven on this file way back. Swampert's probably worth considering.

There's some teams online that beat 99% of fights, if you know what moves to make.

Ah, I got screwed over by luck. I suddenly like my team a bit less.

So how does losing work in the battle tower?
Is it going to be unreasonable and say I have to play 21 matches, beat silver rank Palmer again and then play another 21 for a shot at gold rank Palmer?
Or is it gonna let me play 3 rounds and try gold rank Palmer?

Wow. 1BP for 10 matches in the battle hall. I'll try not to spend it all in one place.
Edit: Oh, they put Shedinja in the 1 Pokemon per team thing. That's half an hour down the drain. Neat.

Scarfchomp beat the Battle Hall. That was time consuming.
And oh no there's a Battle Factory in this game.
Edit: No you know what, I don't want this silver print. It is valueless to me.
Edt again: (Goes to Battle Arcade) (Spins a wheel) "The match will commence with your Pokemon paralysed!"

Okay haha, the game had me going for an hour or two. Not even going to go inside the Battle Castle.
