The world was always an unstable, violent place. The internet and social media just makes it easier to see.

There's more than enough compelling arguments to be made that if social media didn't exist, there would be much less sociopolitical division and anger, and violence that comes from it.

Physical violence? Probably not, when you consider the world was a more dangerous and physically violent place in decades and generations before this one.

Mental violence? Definitely. Just think about how many people you've gotten into an argument on this site alone. Or how easy it is to "hate" on someone you don't even know.
