tried closed beta for a day, it sucked.

Sort of the same thing as AAA in that it's about a certain amount of budget being used (the amount, of course, being super nebulous). As with AAA it doesn't particularly have anything to do with quality, but it doesn't mean that they won't get raked over the coals for it under that basis regardless.

Yes, but AAA as it relates to gaming has long since (ie. from the get-go) had nothing to do with that. Hence why it has never been about how sure-fire the sale of a game is beyond the assumption that high budget = high sales. Certainly there is an allowance for projections being wrong, but the sheer quantity of wrong predictions would put the entire thing under suspect on both ends of the spectrum. On the flip side equating "rating" with "money spent" almost exclusively gives a 1:1 with what people say.

We've already had Infinite Wealth, Persona 3: Reload, Tekken 8, Helldivers 2, and it's only February. And that's not even counting FF7R: Rebirth in two weeks, and Dragon's Dogma 2 in like a month. LOL @ "nasty driblets".

I heard the reason the game was made to begin with because of the positive receptions people had with AC Black Flag ship gameplay. Then the game went into development hell with it constantly getting delayed and going over budget until they were forced to release the game because of international reasons. The result is what we got now and I don't see this game living for very long.

Ive played a lot of pirate games and that was the worst one ever.

And Im including the Pirates of the Carribean mmo that had surprisingly good naval combat.

It's only going to drop from there I reckon.

A game that spent 11 years in development and pretty much broke all its promises in no way deserves anything as a high as 75/100

Not to mention being more "live service" trash

Funny how another lesser known pirates game was recently remade and released which was equally a disaster cause they didnt do a damn thing to improve it

that 75/100 review is killing me, it basically spells out just how shitty and bland the game is without ever really explaining why the "price is worth it".
