If those are fresh on an oven baked pizza then it'd be delicious, but if it were pizza hut or frozen then I don't think it'd be as good. It's the raw flavor of the ingredients that would make it shine.

I think, some people simply don't know how godly quality food can be. I mean, having different preferences is totally okay, I don't mean it like that. But sometimes you can tell that some people never/rarely had quality food.

... or maybe there's just a difference between the US and Europe about what quality meals means. In many countries across Europe, people love traditional meals. They don't want to alter recipes, but instead try to bring meals to perfection by increasing the quality of the ingredients.

That's why a Pizza Margherita is regarded a top tier pizza here, if it's made of quality ingredients.

I don't want to offend anyone. To each their own. And I'm aware that not everyone is rich enough to buy quality food every day. Just wanted to say how I perceive the differences across countries.

If it's made really well, everything is delicious. The slightly smoky flavor of the dough, the sweet & savory of the tomato sauce, the freshness of the basil, and the richness of the cheese. And every bite is just a little bit different based on how much of each you're eating.

Tomato and mozz are incredible together... it's the basil that turns me off from a lot of those type recipes - for me, it tastes like the soap that cilantro detractors claim that they taste. I've had it fresh, dried, powdered etc. I don't like it

I think you are lying about having been to Italy or having had a margherita pizza. Fresh mozzarella is very much one of the ingredients of a proper margherita pizza.
