To be fair, top 4 was already going to be quite a stretch even if we were fully healthy. Even when we win we look like ass and we have some horrific results early season where we got our teeth kicked in by lesser sides. Nothing we have done since has suggested we would suddenly pick up enough form to convincingly grab a top 4 spot. We are basically relying on everyone else imploding

I don't know what's more disappointing, Arsenal trailing their first leg or Bayern Munich.

Also, Man United are so boned regarding top 4/5. Shaw's out for pretty much the rest of the season and now the club have no left backs to play and they can't play Dalot there because Wan-Bissaka's also out. Add in Martinez being out, and United have a barely functional defense.

Even fucking 0-0 going back to London wasn't the end of the world.

But the absolute lack of maturity involved to concede a goal like that, the way we did.

That clownshow Raya, trying to start what ended up being our 100th failed quick counter of the night. Declan Rice our record signing backing off and watching the shooter line up his strike, after Saka and or Odegaard and or Martinelli gave the ball away for the thousandth mf time.

I'm absolutely fuming. All they had to do was just chill and be mature for 30 seconds and we go back to London with everything to play for. Now we're down 1-0 and if we thought the terrorball from Porto was bad this game, it'll be even worse next time. God forbid we screw up and concede first at the Emirates.

The counterpoint to Yanited is they are up against Mateball and Good Ebening. Emery has bottled top four before and Tottenham in general have never met a situation they couldn't throw away. So Yanited have every chance to scam top four yet again.

emery has bottle a top 4 bid once over like 15 years of coaching at a top level. not sure i'd bank on them not getting top 4/5, although, sure, anything could happen

their form hasn't been the greatest over the last month or so

You have to laugh at Harry Kane finally getting away to Bayern Munich to bag some trophies only to run into Leverkusen running up one of the best seasons in German football history to break their ridiculous title streak. No trophies this year, buddy.

And Klopp's resignation has given every Liverpool game a cup final atmosphere. Dunno if it'll make a difference in the end regarding the league given City and Arsenal look stronger to me, but not sure these wins over Luton, Brentford, Chelsea, etc. would have happened if the players and fans didn't know it was his last season.

The fact that Bayern Munich are actively pursuing the signing of Xabi Alonso is actually what created their current situation in the first place.

It's happened with other players, but for my money the most egregious case of it was signing Robert Lewandowski off of Dortmund. Turning their own domestic league into a feeder league for their own talent was the beginning of what is happening now. It cheapened the quality of the Bundesliga, which was already far behind some of the other leagues. Now the gulf is MASSIVE between the likes of the Bundesliga and the Premier League.

This past summer, they tried to square up against Arsenal for the signing of Declan Rice. 5 years ago, it would've been a laugh riot, Arsenal trying to compete with Bayern for the signing of a player. This time? It was the other way around. Bayern were laughed out of the conversation. Because there's no prestige or excitement in going to the Bundesliga to canter to trophies with Bayern like there is competing in the Premier League.

So the fact that they're facing stern competition from Bayer Leverkusen and they're immediately trying to sign their genius manager is a fucking laugh riot. If Xabi Alonso actually goes there, I will lose all the respect I had for him the way I did Lewandowski.

Either way, there's almost nothing that could make me respect the way Bayern Munich operate less, but this move here managed to still surprise me.

I forgot to check the UEL one. I mostly follow these because UEFA coefficient points is important for Denmark for fighting around the important 15th place. Currently we're in 14th but only FCK is left and they're not getting points from City, so Norway and Israel may be able to get ahead (and Greece in a miracle run). Hopefully only one of them will.

Roma / Brighton is a tough draw. It bodes well for future seasons and Danish points that both Prague teams drew top opponents in Liverpool and Milan, Czechia is a bit ahead of us. Hopefully Benfica knocks out Rangers, Scotland is also within reach.

Ajax Aston Villa is a bit rough. Ajax had a s*** start to the season I know, but that's still a big name.

Okay, Club Brgge should be able to knock Molde out easily enough that Norway wont get ahead of us. If it's a victory and a draw for Brgge even they don't get ahead. The Israeli teams both have tough draws as well, I'm satisfied. Top 15 should happen, thanks to FCK being responsible of very close to 50% of the Danish points the last 5 year. Despite the Danish Super Liga being quite competitive, FCK has had much more European success.

Freiburg is a good draw imo, they're not in great shape.

Both that and Brighton/Roma will likely be important for getting the fifth Champions League slot which Germany and Italy are currently leading. Having two teams knocked out to direct opponents would be a huge blow for England even if we all expect at least one English team in each tournament to go far.

But I need them to come out with clear intent to set things right from Wednesday. And from the robbery we suffered at SJP earlier this year. Those fucking barcodes have been a thorn in our side for the last three years and its really time we give them an absolute battering. They're in terrible form. Just get it done, boys.

I love Unai Emery a lot, so it's been VERY FRUSTRATING that the Arteta Out section of our extremely weird fanbase has used every one of his successes at Aston Villa and elsewhere to try and downplay what Arteta has done at Arsenal.

I always said Unai was the right guy at the wrong time for our club and wish him extremely well (except when they play us).

You called it! That was not a convincing victory, with Foden poaching a goal, Bournemouth looking the better team for decent swaths of the game, Haaland being subbed off late, and City basically just holding on for final whistle.
