..to put them in uncooked rice will help a lot with drying them out? I just read that they said iphone users should never do this, as it won't work? Any of you ever dropped your phone in your toilet, though? I never have.

It is, however, completely bullshit.

You shouldn't do it because the dust and particles from the rice will fuck up your electronics worse.

Any damage the water is going to do is already done, and you're better off letting it dry normally.

is it really? i kinda had it work for a watch.

You should put it in instant noodles instead. This will attract broke college students who have to fix their own devices because they can't afford to replace them.

Leaving wet electronics alone will dry them out, that part is true. The rice does nothing.

You'd have to be one dumb turtle to think rice on the outside of a phone will absorb water that's inside the phone.

This has been a thing forever. Ive done it a couple times back when smart phones were first coming out, got my phone working and never had any issues from it. Phone wasnt turning on so whats the harm in trying.

My Dad dropped his phone in a tall cup of soda once,I've dropped mine 3ft underwater while it was playing music.

What works is quickly taking it apart and letting it sit for a few days to naturally dry.
