Trump to speak later on how to over through elections

Trump narrowly leads Biden in general election rematch, CNN poll finds
From CNN's Jennifer Agiesta and Ariel Edwards-Levy
With presidential primaries underway and a 2020 general election rematch seemingly the most likely outcome, a CNN poll conducted by SSRS released early February shows former President Donald Trump narrowly ahead of President Joe Biden in whats shaping up to be a close contest nationally.
The poll highlights voters conflicted feelings about the leading candidates. Broad majorities of Democrats and Republicans say theyd be satisfied if their partys candidate won such a rematch. Still, a sizable minority of voters express a desire for another option if Biden and Trump are the nominees.
Overall, 49% of registered voters say they would back Trump if an election between the two were held today, while 45% support Biden and 5% say theyd vote for someone else.
Those numbers are identical to CNN polling on the contest in the fall, and the demographic dynamics of the contest appear to be steady with a wide education gap among the most notable demographic divides, and smaller differences by age or race than in other recent presidential elections.

Kari Lake gears up CPAC crowd ahead of Trumps remarks
Arizona Senate candidate and close Trump ally Kari Lake geared up the CPAC crowd here Saturday ahead of former president Trumps remarks later this afternoon.
Lake shared an anecdote about two people who, she said, came to her door and threatened her to stay out of politics. She said they represented "some very powerful people back East.
I can name two powerful people back East who will work for you and I know theres an army more Donald J. Trump and Senator Kari Lake, the Arizona Republican said.
Lake, who lost a bid for Arizona governor in 2022, was among several potential Trump vice presidential picks who spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference this week.
Chants of USA, USA, USA broke out at one point during her speech.
Lake also ginned up enthusiasm from the crowd in celebrating recent layoffs at several news organizations, joking that she was OK if we have high unemployment if it puts the fake news out of the workforce.
She encouraged voters to get involved and help President Trump, as well as her own Senate campaign in Arizona.

heard about the pinball game and the switch to being proud of the capital attack. Trump ha also taken the stage an hour late

What Republican voters are saying about Trumps potential running mate
From CNN's Steve Contorno, Aaron Pellish and Alison Main in National Harbor, Maryland
At this week's Conservative Political Action Conference, attendees speculated whom Donald Trump might pick as a running mate and weighed the pros and cons of his potential choices.
Edward X. Young, a 64-year-old visiting from Brick, New Jersey, liked the idea of a Donald/Donalds ticket with Florida Rep. Byron Donalds, which he said would make for a beautiful bumper sticker, and he called Vivek Ramaswamy very exciting.
But then again, hes just like a younger version of Trump, he said. Maybe you need a balance.
Bode Brewer, who will be of voting age for the first time in November, thinks the diversity of the candidates under consideration could be an advantage.
Im not a fan of identity politics most times, said the 17-year-old from Reading, Pennsylvania. But I think with, as the party is diversifying, I think we do owe it to our voters to get a candidate that is more diverse.
With the country barreling toward a Trump-Biden rematch, several CPAC attendees think the partys next vice presidential pick should help usher in a new generation.
I believe we need new people, said Genilde Guerra of Miami. We cannot go to the old politicians that everyones so tired of.

Donald Trump is painting a bleak picture for the CPAC crowd as he lays out his case against President Joe Biden.
He asked supporters to envision what another Biden term would mean for immigration, inflation and the justice system, telling the crowd that he issued this warning in 2020.
Believe me when I offer you another warning, Trump said, adding that if Biden wins in 2024, this worst is yet to come. He argued that he is the only person who can stop the countrys demise, and that a vote for him is a ticket back to freedom.

Trump says he "talked with Putin a lot, I got along with him well," in his first term, but points to recent remarks Putin made indicating that Putin wanted Biden to win in 2024.

Trump brings back his famous line he coined on NBC's "The Apprentice," saying it's time to tell Biden, "You're fired! ... Get the hell out of here."

Putin saying good things about Biden is blatant Russian-style information war.

That the annoying orange is pointing this out just shows he doesn't have any actual connection like he thought, and is just a conveniently stupid puppet that did daddy Putin's bidding for his own profit.

Trump: I'm a dissident
Trump, facing dozens of charges, describes the legal system as out of control.
Trump, whos repeatedly leaned into his indictments as a political tool, called himself a proud political dissident on Saturday.
"I stand before you today not only as your past and hopefully future president, but as a proud political dissident, he said.
He later described his legal woes as Stalinist show trials and repeated a favorite line of his, comparing himself to American gangster Al Capone. Remember, Ive been indicted more than Alphonse Capone.
The former president regularly fundraises off of his legal challenges and tells voters that hes being indicted for you. His speeches often revolve around his own personal grievances, and he didnt skip the opportunity to do the same at CPAC.

Biden seizes on Trump's immigration rhetoric at CPAC
They're killing our country, they're killing our people, Trump said during his speech.

The Biden campaign seized on the opportunity to highlight Trumps immigration remarks at CPAC, posting a string of clips from that chunk of his speech.
It will be the largest deportation in the history of our country, and we have no choice. And it's not a nice thing to say and I hate to say it. Those clowns in the media will say, 'Oh he's so mean.' He's ... No, no. They're killing our people. They're killing our country, they're killing our people, we have no choice, Trump said, railing against migrants.
The former president continues to use the southern border as a base-rallying issue, often using dehumanizing language to describe migrants as he elevates an anti-immigrant message.
After Trump helped torpedo the bipartisan border deal earlier this month, Biden officials have ramped up their rhetoric against the the GOP a notable shift given the Democratic Partys tendency to shy away from the vexing issue.
Trump, who just sabotaged the bipartisan deal to secure the border, claims Democrats want 'open walls,' the Biden campaign posted from the Biden-Harris HQ account.

Trumps speech hits several favorite topics, including Jan. 6, the border and foreign policy
Mainstays of his speeches made their way into his CPAC speech.

Donald Trumps CPAC speech has hit on several of the former presidents favorite topics.
Trump railed against the border crisis, long one of his most popular topics for speeches. Reminder that he recently helped kill the bipartisan border deal in the Senate, which would've cracked down on border crossings and sent more funding to strained immigration agencies.
He also came to the defense of the imprisoned Jan. 6 rioters, which has been a cause clbre among CPAC attendees this week. As Trump spoke, one audience members was heard yelling, "Free them!"
And Trump briefly pivoted to foreign policy, arguing that a number of ongoing conflicts wouldnt have happened if he were president. The attack on Israel wouldve never happened. Iran was broke. They were broke. Ukraine would have never happened, he said.

Always amazes me that these people don't think exclusively catering to and trying to garner the votes of straight white Christians and constantly harping about "white grievances" isn't "identity politics".
