I've been talking to someone on a friendship/dating app and we get along great but they live in the US and I'm in the UK. Does anyone have any experience with an overseas relationship and how was it?

No experience, but it can't be any worse than traditional dating. It might hold some advantages too

I'd try and make the first meeting sooner rather than later though

I was chatting to my current girlfriend online for about a month and a half before we lived in the same country.

I have never done it before and have no desire to do that. I am not a man for long distance

No, were about to get a place together in the next few months. This was back in 2022.

However, I knew that I was moving to her country, regardless of how our relationship went. I was just trying to chat with some people before I got there, do a bit of language exchange, set up some dates, benefit from local knowledge, etc.
