Got it from the wii e shop back in the day. Finally got around to it.

Just beat level 4.

I'm finally starting to get what people have been saying about this game all these years.
Wow. Amazing game. Truly.
And I've only cheated(looking something up) once. I've found most everything exploring and figuring stuff out. Very cool.
I've previously recently beat Zelda NES.
Back in the day I played thi shit out of OoT and WW.
Still haven't got around to the newer lore/games

It's remained my favorite game of all time since I played it and nothing has dethroned it.

First time thru it's cool to do the dungeons in the numbered/suggested order everyone should have to figure out the Ice Palace the "hard way", but on replays I always do them out of order.

This game is a trip. Revolutionary.

Oh forgot to mention I played Zalda SS on Wii last year.
LOVED IT. Although it does have flaws...

I'm curious what optional items you already got.

Some are pretty easy to find, some are a bit more tricky.

You got the cane of byrna before the magic cape? That sounds like literal pain.

Also, how did you get the red shield? But yeah, seems like you got most of the optional stuff already.

Oh and I used the magic powder on the bowl of blood in the underground cave. Got a demon bat or something to double my magic capacity.
I purchased the red shield for like 600 I think?
North on map and west of the mountain. Dark world shop I think?
The cane wasnt too hard to get. Just go south and east in dark world from top of mountain. Somewhere around there.

Yeah, this is also a nice extra and you will bless the day you found this.

I was suspecting that.

Yeah, I think you just need the golden gloves and enough HP / potions. Maybe my memory is a bit more dramatic about the damage you get there.

And yes, I'm also one of the guys who can't praise Lttp enough. It did so much for the Zelda series that is even used today, especially the OST and some lore including the Master Sword itself.

Cane of Byrna! Level 5 b3. Wasted most demon penguins with fire rod magic. Cornered the final one with cane and slaughtered it in epic fashion!

I heard there is some differences between verions. I have the snes cart but I'm playing on wii with classic controller.
Word on the street is there may be differences in the game between original, Nintendo e shop, and gba versions.

I dunno 100 percent on all that stuff though.

I don't think there's any real differences between the original and Virtual Console versions as far as I know. GBA version is definitely different though.

I highly recommend trying the randomizer at some point in the future. It's a great way to breathe some new life into the game.

I intend on playing it but I want to start with the original first.

There's actually several Super Nintendo games I own, but have not fully played, because their series starts on the NES and I dont have one yet. Metroid, Zelda, Megaman, Mother, FF.

The Final Fantasies are separate games, so they can be played out of order.
Mother... everybody played Earthbound on Snes without knowing about the first Mother back in the days.
Mega Man... the X series is a spinoff set in the future, well playable without the classic series.

It's so cool seeing all this stuff I did in 3d zeldas done here for the first time.

Ok. Made some progress last night.

Maybe it's the medicinal prescribed stuff I took but damn that was a trip and a bit spooky.
These zelda games have always had some horror elements

Honestly I think on my first few playthroughs I too just tanked the spikes with high hearts and potions; I didn't learn that the Magic Cape protected you from spikes until much later.

Did you at least save and quit once you got it then restart, to avoid walking back thru the spikes?
I've seen a pretty sad number of people play it the first time and actually go back thru it again...

I mean, you can just use the Staff itself to exit the cave without damage, right? I guess I couldn't say for 100% certainty since it's been so long since I got it without the Magic Cape, but it'd be a pretty weird proviso if the Staff of Byrna protected you from all damage except spikes.

I honestly can't remember exactly how I got through.
It might have been the staff. I remember using it at first. I might have had the magic upgrade from vampire bat.

That thing just bathes in and drinks blood on the creepy bowl with hands statue

It uses magic. I guess if you face-tanked the spikes then you have the magic meter to use it, though.
I'm so used to using the cape on the way in.

I don't know if it works in such a tiny cave like that of the Byrna cave, but the mirror allows you to teleport back to the entrance within a dungeon.

I probably should try this out next time.
