My brother [Jonathan] wrote it. It kills me, because its the line that most resonates. And at the time, I didnt even understand it. He says, You either die a hero or you live long enough to become the villain. I read it in his draft, and I was like, All right, Ill keep it in there, but I dont really know what it means. Is that really a thing? And then, over the years since that films come out, it just seems truer and truer. In this story, its absolutely that. Build them up, tear them down. Its the way we treat people. In a way it is one of those lines that perhaps sounds deeper than it actually is. Punished_Blinx 02/28/24 12:21:49 AM #6:	I think it's one of those things that sounds a bit shallow at first. Like yeah Dent becomes a bad guy. Not all public figures become that. So at first read I can see it sounding a bit silly because it's not really a thing people would otherwise say. But it also foreshadows Batman's fate. It's not just about people becoming literal villains. It's also about society making heroes into villains eventually. Then you notice how it can apply to all sorts of situations and people.
